I have been to New Mexico several times, and I have always found beauty and a certain level of serenity when I visit there. I think it's one of those states that go unnoticed. There is so much to see from the Mountains up in Taos where you feel like you're in Northern CA, to the beautiful natural red rock Jemez Mountains filled with several natural hot springs, where soaking mountain-side is a real life thing you can do there! The mix of culture is very present and something truly worth experiencing...
Today I want to talk about our planning process and why it’s different from some of our fabulous planner friends.
Honesty is the best policy my friends, so here it goes.
One day about 1.5 years ago, I was sitting at a cozy coffee shop in Minneapolis, chatting with my right hand lady Felicia. Who also happens to be our Sr. Lead Floral Designer here at Jessica Wonders Events. I was telling her how I felt I was at a crossroads with my business and that I needed to choose one road or another. I felt my choices were to take a step back as a planner myself and hire a boat load of other planners to work for me, and take on a managing role, as I knew it wasn’t realistic to split my time between managing other planners, and also planning for my clients. Just simply based on how much time and extra effort I put into my clients and getting to really know them throughout the planning process, I knew I couldn’t give them 100% and manage several other planners. At the time of this conversation I had one other lead planner working for me, and three assistant planners. Now here is where my second choice of a road to go down comes in…

Good wedding planners aren't cheap, a true professional, and experienced wedding planner should be worth their weight in gold! Not only due to saving you money but by also keeping your sanity. Some things should be left to the professionals, and weddings are one of those things. After-all most people getting married have never planned a wedding before, so they don’t know best. Sure your bestie who just got married could give you “advice” or tell you to book all of the vendors she did. But do you want your wedding to be just like hers or anyone else really!? My guess is no.
Can we talk about flowers for a minute!? Specifically wedding and event flowers, and even more specifically in Minnesota. If you live, have lived, or ever even visited you know that we certainly do not have beautiful blooms of flowers here all 12 months out of the year. Heck even if you haven't visited you have likely heard on the news about our often traitorous winters, and with that, and with that, you can imagine that we are most certainly not able to grow much during the winter here.
Our friendship, and colleague relationships all started with this adorable box of BEAUTIFUL and totally stunning paper goods that were delivered to our door. She just wanted to say hi and make an impression, and that she did guys. You see there is something huge you are missing here in this blog post. The actual paper goods themselves, while I know Krista Sterling Photography has shown them off in the best possible way with her photo skills, it's something to see this pretty paper that is Champagne Press in person.
Is it those little chocolates you spent far too much time, and way too much money on, that were left behind and thrown away at the end of the night? Was it the color of the napkin? Or maybe, just maybe it was that diy décor you put a lot of work into making pretty, but it didn’t actually work out in the end but you went with it anyways!?

Some couples choose to have an adult only wedding and the reasons vary. No matter what the reason, your guests should kindly respect your wishes. After all it’s a great reason to get a babysitter and make a night of it! The tricky part is how do you get the point across while being polite, but very clear? The best option is your invitations/rsvp cards.
Katelyn & Eric were recently married on a beautiful spring day this past May. We worked some of the most fabulous vendors on this wedding and it turned out to be a really, really great wedding for the books! Check out the vendor list below and a few of our favorite photos!
